Yellow and Red Flowers

I picked this up in London, from an ethical fabric market selling fabrics from around the world. It was a bit of a goldmine day!

This is one of the lightest cottons of the collection, and I was told that’s because of the treatment it went though to bleach the cotton to get the specks of white. It’d make a fantastic summery dress or top, and it has a light drape as well.

This is a traditional African wax print, printed on organic cotton. African wax print is sometimes made the cheaper way, by screen-printing designs onto fabric to make it more affordable. It takes a lot of effort to find proper suppliers like this, who take the time to source proper fabrics made the traditional way.

This one, along with all the other African wax prints in my collection, is the real deal - painstakingly made by hand, and treated well.
