The Anita dress was the first one I designed, featuring a fully-fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline, cap sleeves, square back and a pleated skirt. It's nipped in at the waist so can be worn with or without a belt, as in the pictures.
The skirt is made with box pleats, so there's a gentle sway while still being structured and draping elegantly. And of course, it has pockets!
This is available in any of my African wax prints - check them out in the gallery below.

Who made it? Who designed it?
Everything at Syra Brownlock is made and designed by me, Sanjukta - from the sketches to the pattern to the outfit in your hands.
Everything is made to order to ensure minimal waste, and is made according to your style and size.
I use only ethically-sourced fabrics, and even materials like buttons and zips. Everything is sustainable, fairly traded, handmade, spun or dyed, or environmentally-friendly. Along with your creation you'll also receive a card with details of everything that's gone into it, so you know your purchase supports your values.
This dress is named after my mother, who also taught me to sew. Without getting cheesy it was a no-brainer that my first fully tailored dress would be named after the most important and inspiring woman in my life!
